Dear Class of 2026 student,

As you embark on the important decision of choosing your options for your Key Stage 4 studies, it is vital that you consider which subjects might be the best ones for you. The choices you make now will help shape not just your remaining 2 years here at The Dean Academy, but also your next steps once you leave us at the end of Year 11.

In addition to the Options Information evening last week, we will be running a series of remote assemblies during tutor time that give you some more information about each of the subjects, including how it is assessed, what important skills and knowledge you will develop and what next steps it can help you to prepare for.

During each of these assemblies you should be making notes about what the subject leaders are telling you as this will help you to make an informed decision. Use the templates provided to help you to do this.

You will be asked to select five options subjects of which you will be allocated four of them to go on and study. You will need to fill this on an online MS forms by the deadline of Monday 29^th April.

Remember, it is important to discuss with your parents/carers about what you think might be the best courses for you.
